“May Imsali never fully quench your thirst for knowledge.”
Lydiov Lithus, known as the Stone Archivist, invites all who are eager for knowledge into the Archive. Here, he not only exhibits curiosities and writings from his travels and expeditions but also offers a place for the exchange of knowledge, the analysis of magical effects, and (mostly) non-violent discussion with friend and foe—as long as one adheres to the Archive’s rules.
With the Lithic Archive, we want to introduce a location designed to encourage knowledge-seeker roleplay and facilitate entry into the plot. To this end, we are combining a variety of different mechanics here:
Knowledge is Power
Found knowledge in the form of documents or other objects can be brought to the Archive to be unlocked there. From then on, it is also available to other players, viewable, and copyable. You can also get translations into English for most of the documents you found in German (and vice versa).
You can search the Archive for knowledge on specific topics; there will be a dedicated mechanism for this, which you will learn about at ConQuest!
And hidden among the Archivist’s curiosities is also something that is meant to help with magical analysis!
Hosted by NPCs
To ensure that this location is truly available to everyone and is as closely linked as possible to the current plots and the world, the Archive is supervised by NPCs. In addition to the Archivist and his Nocterran team, you can also encounter changing knowledge-roles from player-friendly factions, such as Scriptors of the Inquisition, Knowledge Weavers of the Vibalians, and Legend Tellers of the Dragon Hunters. You can recognize the team by the black bags with the white Archive logo.
But knowledge seekers from the settlers are also encouraged to actively use this place, fill it with life, and help out. Because there is always enough to do!
Plenty of Space
The Archive is a large plot location in the Outpost with different areas:
- The Archive itself with its artifacts and curiosities
- The Scribe’s Hall, where one can read and write
- An assembly tent, offering space for several dozen people to hold knowledge-seeker gatherings or councils
- An open area for lectures, discussions, or performances
- The Cabinet, a particularly secured area where selected artifacts can be stored.
Feel free to register lectures, performances, or gatherings in the Archive—either via an Archive Ticket on Discord, by email to regie@mythodea.de or on-site at the Archive itself.
A Place of Encounter – With Friend and Foe
The Archivist, even though he is Nocturnal, stays out of political and warlike conflicts. He generally welcomes everyone in his Archive as a guest, as long as they adhere to the rule, including the occasional Undead, Skargen, or Acolyte from the Black Dynasty. One of his artifacts still ensures that no violence can be used—just in case, of course. It might be possible to resist this spell, but then it is quite possible that those individuals will be expelled from the Archive!
With this, we want to offer the possibility of interacting with the enemy in a non-warlike manner and influencing each other with propaganda 😉
We look forward to seeing you in the Archive! See you very soon at the event!
