Building the Wealth of Sarkan: The Coin System!

Welcome back to Mythodea, where we will explore deeper into the continent of Sarkan!

This rich and mysterious land expands the world we know and love, the world in which ConQuest and all official Realms of Mythodea events take place.

As the new continent grows, so does its economy, and just like in past years, coins remain a vital part of your in-game experience. Entering the second year of Sarkan Treasure Quest, that tradition continues and begins to take on a new life of its own.

In 2026, we invite you to help shape the growing legacy of Sarkan by placing coins directly into the hands of NSC factions and the plot team. From there, they will flow naturally into the world: earned through meaningful interaction, uncovered through exploration, claimed through wit and daring — and sometimes even claimed as hard-won loot.

Together, we’re not just exchanging coin — we’re building a living economy and a new tradition that will grow richer with each passing year.

Donations will be accepted until the 4th of May. 

Every coin you contribute can become part of a story. It might show up in a monster hoard,  a buried treasure, a gamble gone wrong, or a diplomatic payoff…

In recent years, our in-game coins – especially copper pieces – have become true collectors’ items with real-world (OOC) value. Many of you have treasured, collected, or kept them as souvenirs. We love that – and it shows how meaningful Mythodea, and in-game currency in general, has become for many of you.

But therein lies a challenge: More and more often, players hesitate to part with their coins during the game, citing their OOC value. Exchange rates get distorted or even pushed to absurdity. The game loses its flow when coins stop changing hands – when trade, bribes, rewards, and treasure hunts break down due to the perceived real-world worth of in game currency.

The Sarkan Crowns are here to change that.

We are introducing a new in-game currency that belongs to the game. Just like in the early days, these coins are meant to flow through camps, the factions, and fuel encounters – earned with effort, given with intent, and played for with joy.

So how does it work?

You can purchase Sarkan coins until up to four weeks before the event starts and in doing so, consciously donate them to the game.

These coins are then handed over to the NSC factions and the plot team – They will find their way back to you during the game: through quests, discoveries, trade, riddles, or acts of daring.

The more coins that have been donated beforehand, more treasure will drop organically throughout the event, woven naturally into the gameplay.

Over time, the Sarkan coin system will become more and more important:

Factions will develop their own expenses, small economic systems will emerge, and power will become tangible – all tied directly to your interaction with our NSCs.

What about the old copper coins?

You can still use the old coins for trade between players, with mercenaries, or in smaller deals.

But the Sarkan Crowns will become the central currency around which the future of Mythodea in Sarkan revolves.

And if you find some Sarkan coins in your pouch after the event – no problem!

Just bring them back next time!
